Online course: Unlock your PR story
Easy ways to find interesting story angles within your business to get you seen in the media.
Fed up of being the best kept secret in your industry?
Getting featured in the media is powerful.
It builds credibility and trust, and gets you a lot more visible.
Whether you’re a coach or copywriter, a photographer or florist, it puts you in a different league to others in your sector. And PR works hard to attract a steady flow of new client enquiries while helping you to grow your newsletter or your podcast audience.
And who doesn’t want that?
I’ve worked in media for 25 years - on both sides
I was a local and national newspaper journalist for many years, and those newsrooms can be pretty unforgiving. You need to find great stories - and pitch them to the editor - every day.
Since then, I’ve used these skills to help many business owners to secure valuable press coverage, telling their stories to many (many) thousands of people.
This course is for you if you’d like to:
• Use my simple strategies to find great story angles in your business that include your key messages
• Understand how to share your knowledge, advice and expertise via articles to boost your credibility
• Feel more confident about how and where your business fits into the media landscape
• Stand out against your competitors, building trust with your dream clients
• Start driving sales and growing your business through the power of PR
Think PR isn’t for you? Think again…
Myth: PR is only for big companies
PR is highly effective for small businesses like yours.
You may feel that PR isn’t achievable for you, or that it’s only for other business owners, but that’s simply not true. Journalists love to hear stories from solopreneurs and freelancers because they’re usually doing new and interesting things - in new and interesting ways.
Myth: I don’t have enough time for PR
Believe me, PR is totally do-able when you’re a time-poor solopreneur.
Top tip: You don’t need a press release. An email will usually do the job. You can achieve big results working on your PR in short bursts a couple of times a week (much less time than creating social media posts on repeat).
That’s why I’ve designed this course to be simple, fast and great value.
Myth: PR is scary and overwhelming
I get this - but it really doesn’t have to be. Once you understand how it all works - and that journalists are actual humans with deadlines and pages to fill - it feels a lot more achieveable.
Feeling confident that you have an interesting and relevant story idea helps.
Make PR work for you
I’ve taught hundreds of solopreneurs how to DIY their PR… even when they’ve had NO previous experience of working with the media.
They’re already achieving incredible results - including being featured in local and national newspapers and magazines, and being interviewed on local radio. And the best part is that once you know how PR works, it’s totally FREE! You should never pay to be included in editorial articles (unlike advertising).
Publicity is crucial if you want to keep attracting new clients.
When your business features in trusted publications like newspapers and magazines, you can stop having to convince people to work with you. They’re already on board as they’ve seen or heard you in the press, so they trust you! This helps to grow your business - even in challenging times. It’s also great for your SEO due to links back to your website.
And the first step? Nailing your story angle or ‘hook’. That’s where this course comes in. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to find great story ideas for the press, I’d love to show you how.
